Literature, Mud Trilogy Basic


The purpose of this course is to read and discuss the Mud Trilogy, the three novels that Michael Clay Thompson wrote about Mud the fish and his friends. Along the way, there will be lots of writing. We will talk about the characters, the ideas, and the language in each book. There are great words, fun grammar, and twists in the plots of the stories.

There will be a live class once a week on Wednesdays at 1:00. Each week questions will be posted that students can discuss, as well as additional surprises of photographs and a recording in which mrT reads a passage from the week’s reading assignment. Students will have the week to do the reading, to choose the questions he or she likes best, and to write his or her responses.

Student Expectations:
Students will have the week to do the reading, to choose questions to respond to, and to write responses. Responses should be submitted during the week, before the next week’s assignments begin.

Student Support:
Teacher is available via email.

If students send their work by Monday or earlier, that will give mrT time to respond to what has been written and to answer questions that have been asked.
